Famous were the so called "Curio Cabinets" of the past centuries, it was possible to find there the most unusual specimens and parts of animals. Land Snails where along Sea Shells one of the most attractive aditions to every naturalist's cabinet. May be in this historical past, when at the same time new colonies were stabilished in more and more remote places of the earth, was the time when land snail popularity reached its peak, old historical collections are evidence for this.

Today we are living the reawaking of this field of sciences, more and more projects and publications are dealing with this group of animals; scientists have realized that there is a wide gap of knowledge in basic biology and ecology of many families, many living in our very own backyard, not just in dark and misty rainforests. Being our personal main interest as well we are proud to offer this diverse selection of species for your enjoyment and study.

These are our current lists on landsnails found in our journeys, they are listed geographically. Image plates are provided in many cases and more will be ready in the near future. More info on each species is available upon request, and full datas are supplied with each specimen.
